ADORABLE RACCOON FINGER PUPPETS
"With their black "burglar mask" and dark rings around their tails, raccoons are familiar nighttime sight to most of us in North America. They are very good swimmers and climbers, and are almost as dexterous with their hands as monkeys (they have been known to untie ropes securing garbage cans before carrying them away!)." They hang upside down and swing my birdfeeders attached to my house so hard that they knock all the seed out which is quickly eatten by their buddies on the ground. "Their omnivorous diet includes insects, frogs, birds' eggs and shellfish as well as crops (they love corn!) and even occasionally the contents of kitchen cupboards. Raccoons' well-known habit of "washing" their food, is not due to cleanliness as was once thought, but is probably an instinct left over from the days their ancestors lived along waterways and played with their prey before eating it."
